As we continue to give thanks in our personal and professional lives, we want to take time to recognize our achievements and those who have gone over and above in their businesses and in service to their clients and the Houston community. Following are awards that members of the Remodelers Council recently received.

The Remodelers Council of the Greater Houston Builders Association was honored to receive three awards from the National Association of Home Builders on Oct. 23 at the 2014 NAHB Remodelers Gala in Baltimore, Maryland. The Council Awards for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence, known in the industry as the CADREs, are judged by members of NAHB Remodelers’ leadership and are presented each year to local Remodelers Councils and individuals whose work at the local council level exemplifies the best practices of the remodeling industry.

The Houston Remodelers Council president, Gonzalo Garcia, CGR, GMB, CAPS, CGP, owner of JRG Builder and Remodelers, received the Outstanding Council Chair Award; Jennifer Wall with Bison, A Stock Supply Company, received the Associate of the Year Award; and the Houston Remodelers Council won the Community Service Project council award for its charity project at the SonRise Shelter, headed by Ryan Boyles with GB General Contractors.
The CADRE is the NAHB Remodelers’ highest national award. CADRE winners are honored for outstanding contributions and performance at the local council level.

Bruce A. Sommers, president of Ashworth Design and Remodeling, was honored with a Platinum 2014 Professional Remodeler Design award. Ashworth Design and Remodeling received this award for A Whole House Remodel at the Professional Remodeler Leadership Awards ceremony during the Remodeling show on Oct. 23 in Baltimore.

John Gillette of Craftsmanship by John was accepted into the 2014 Qualified Remodeler Top 500. Remodeling firms on the Top 500 elite list are dedicated to their work in the regions served. Qualified Remodeler’s analysis indicates Craftsmanship by John Inc. is No. 7 in the United States.

As we continue to celebrate this holiday season, we hope you will join the members of the Remodelers Council in giving thanks and remembering those less fortunate than ourselves.
